Stone Crest's Maximus is the long sought after male appy that we have been looking for. His famous sire is Mystery's Timone, a National Champion. His dam is from RTC Llama Ranch, Francine, out of Randy Cipriano's program of superior genetic breeding. (Pictures courtesy of Jody Laird-Peter) He has gotten very tall, and he and his pasture mate Cyrus, are breathtakingly handsome llamas! Star Ilsa

Heavy Wool Female White/dilute brown

ILR# 292900 DOB: 5/29/20195 yrs
Star Ilsa is the rare offspring of Star Firewalker and Star Premium Property. We had purchased Star Premium Property as a bred female with a female cria, Star Prime Pattern, at her side. Star Ilsa began as a pure white llama, but developed a small patch of dilute brown, like her mom, on the left side of her face. She has grown into a huge llama, almost one of our largest females. She is perfect in conformation, walks well on a lead, and is the llama everyone wants to see when they come to visit ...

Introducing Brienne of Montana WRLR! This appaloosa is the daughter of our own Stone Crest's Maximus and Star Ilsa! Max is perpetuating the appy genetics! 2022 was the first breeding season Max and we are delighted with his first ever offspring, a white appy with brown and intense gray spots! We chose Star Ilsa to be bred by Max - Star was the first llama born at Windy Ridge Llama Ranch. Her momma, Star Premium Property AKA "Momma Llama" was purchased already bred by the famous appaloosa Star Firewalker. Ilsa seemed pure white as the snow, then we saw the faint little dilute red trademark patch on her face. She is one of the biggest llamas as Windy Ridge, which is saying a lot - we grow them big in Montana!

Call name "Brienne" is a little sweetheart. She was born less a week apart from another appy here at Windy Ridge Llama Ranch, the offspring of Argentine Leandra and Argentine Don Quixote. The two look very similar. Brienne has a longer neck, in keeping with the Suri genetic line of her dam. And although she is covered in spots, she has the telltale dilute red patch on her face, just like her dam!

Llama breeders often talk of the "dance of the cria" that occurs at dusk. Inevitably, one llama begins prancing and pronking about the pasture, which is quickly followed by all the rest of the cria - it is hilarious to watch! And they can be so fast! Usually, the yearlings and even an older adult will join in the fun! The cutest of this cria crop's antics has to be watching the two little white and brown cria, who look like twins, romping and playing as the sun retreats for the day.
