Suri Male Rose Gray

ILR# 292897 DOB: 10/18/20177 yrs
This proven herd sire has an amazing rose gray fleece - he is a silky, and I put the first picture in from when he was younger since it better captured the lighting - I have tried but my pictures don't do him justice! He has perfect conformation, and the Star genetics of both Kantu P5 and Peruvian Keno PC - this is a rare bloodline, thanks to Star Llama for being one of the first to import llama and preserving these amazing genetics. His rose gray coloring is in itself rare, in addition to being ...

Wildfire has already won 8 contest divisions - a silky jet-black llama, she did very well at the Cascade. She was Grand Champion at 7 months in halter and Reserve in walking fleece. On a beautiful, warm Saturday morning at around 10 am, we heard Sergei, one of the pasture Ovcharka GLDs, begin to bark and announce that something was happening in the pasture. Herve was right there, feeding and watering the llamas, and saw that Wildfire was starting to give birth. He came in and told me, and I hurried out. Wildfire was a maiden, and first births can be very scary as the mom is doing this for the very first time! But you would have thought she was a pro, because this was the most textbook birth we have had in a while at WRLR.

Already the two front legs and head were exposed, and it took 17 minutes total for her to give birth to her very first son - a jet black boy with fleece as magnificent as his mom's! Wildfire had been bred to our own Star Best Bet, and we wondered if his rose gray fleece or her jet black fleece would be predominant. Now we know!! Congratulations to Wildfire and Best Bet!

Wildfire has been a wonderful, caring mom with lots of milk - her little boy got up within an hour of his birth and was quickly being introduced to all the other llamas in the pasture - I love watching them nuzzle the new baby!
